Save Money on Sheet Masks by Switching Over To Japanese Cotton Squares

Japanese Cotton Squares

Sheet mask are super popular right now and they work so well at hydrating the skin.  I love incorporating them day night and using them to create a mini at home spa experience. As much as we love skincare these purchases can add up over time. I recently ran out of my Korean sheet masks I get on amazon and while adding them to my cart I came across these Japanese cotton squares that can help hydrate the skin like a —do-it-yourself mask.

These Japanese cotton squares can be split into into thinner layers, soaked into your favorite hydrating serum or products and layered on the skin. Your skin will soak all the ingredients of the serum and less will go to waste. The cotton squares can be cut and place in any part of your face or all over to create a full face to neck mask.

These can work with acne products by soaking them into salicylic acid and placing them over breakout area for a couple of minutes. They can also work with any hydrating serum, Hyaluronic or Vitamin c serums to hydrate the skin. These can also be used along with a sheet mask by hydrating the pads in the any left over sheet mask solution and layering them on the skin.

An amazon review explains that using these cotton pads along with a lotion is the secret to achieving plump skin with less product loss over evaporation.

“Lotion masks are thin cotton pads that you saturate with the Hada Labo and leave on your face for 3-5 minutes ( same thing as those pre-moistened Sheet Masks but more economical). By the law of osmosis, the moist hyaluronic acid soaks into the dry skin when it has a chance to be wetter, longer, in contact with the dermis.

See, if your skin is dry, simply applying the lotion doesn’t allow it to fully penetrate. it’s like spraying a paper towel with water. What happens? it evaporates and gets even drier or crunchier. Now, if you put a wet sponge onto a paper towel, the towel gets more saturated and fully soaked with moisture. Same theory with the lotion masks.

To properly use this lotion, do what thousands of Japanese and Asian women do with this product: peel cotton pads into thin layers, saturate, then let sit on skin for 3-5 minutes. You will see a VAST difference in plumping + hydration with this synergistic technique vs. just applying the product on your face.”
