If you’ve been dabbling and learning about personal finance, I’m sure you’ve come across Dave Ramsey. Dave Ramsey is an American radio show host, author and businessman. He’s financial advice mainly includes, getting out of debt, saving and investing, as part of his “Baby steps”. I’ve been obsessed with Dave and his channel for some time now because I really like how hard core and honest he is with his advice. For me, I prefer a more in your face-aggressive type of message (* inserts giggle). I feel like the tough approach really makes me dig deep, and push harder with my goals.

Dave might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but his message on saving more and becoming less dependent on borrowing money is definitely something we can all stand behind. I’ve been setting some personal financial goals for myself this past years and it’s really force me to dig deep and change some of my habits.

I’ve been focusing on paying off debt (student loans), lower my monthly expenses and save and invest in my future. Overtime you become a little bored or unmotivated with some of your long term goals that you look for ways to reward yourself or give yourself a little push to keep going.

I recently found a way to make smashing through your financial goals quite fun. I found a coloring financial sheet that could be the answer to making reaching these goals much more exciting.

Besides using financial planning notebooks, apps and budget tools like (Everydollar.com, Personal Capital ect.) Sometimes you want to do something else to give you a different visual of your goals.

I found these debt free charts and saving charts at debtfreecharts.com I then started filling them in every time I saved money or payed some debt. I love filling in these sheets, they make you feel like you’re making real strides towards your goals. They also make it fun. I am a very creative driven person so I enjoy anything that involves coloring and drawing.

Step 2: Screenshot the chart to create an image

Step 3: Select edit the image, then on the top right corner select the 3 dots, then select mark up.

Step 4: Add your Savings goal amount in percentages and how much each block is.

Step 5: Color in each block that applies.

Step 6: Select done, and save the updated sheet into a special album. Repeat the same steps as needed and color in the chart as you make strides. This way you always have them updated sheets with you.

If you prefer on paper, print them out and enjoy looking at how far you’ve come over time.
