Is Having A Morning Routine The Trick To Making Your Days More Productive?

Morning routines are crucial for having productive days and getting a lot done. A good morning routine has been shown to elevate moods, make us feel more accomplished and excited for the day. Morning routines go hand in hand with building long term habits. I  was recently struggling with sticking to a solid routine, this meant anything from waking up at the same time, heading to the gym, having a healthy breakfast and getting anything personal done before work. I was either not waking up at the same time, hitting snooze mutitple times and not achieving the things I needed done by the end of the week.

I workout in the mornings, pm workouts are not for me. When I workout in the morning, I’m energized, I’m happier and I feel accomplished and less stressed about heading to the gym at night.

Why is a morning routine important? A morning routine helps you make time for personal self improving tasks. The morning is a time to be selfish, and focus on doing whats important to you whether is working out, meditating, prioritizing your to do list, it lets you get it done for yourself before you do anything for anyone else. After a long day of work, I get home and I’m tired, this causes me to push away those tasks that are beneficial for me to reach my goals.

Setting a morning routine allows you to put yourself first, wake up with a purpose, create energy, be thankful and bring abundance into your life. An hour in the morning of self-development can add up in the long run.

 My Current Morning Routine:

Gratitude, Smile, Affirmations:

I learned this trick from an instagramer to create a morning routine that involves brining abundance and happiness into your life.

  • 5:00 am wakeup: As soon as I wake up I smile, smiling has a way of putting you in a good mood.
  • Read affirmations from my two favorite apps Spirit Junkie and Daily Teaching. These two apps have daily affirmations about the law of attraction and bringing positivity into your life. I love reading these positive messages in the morning because they put me in a great mood.

Do whats important to you, first thing in the morning:

Exercise:

Morning Routine Benefits

If I don’t exercise in the morning, I know I wont get it done. Currently spinning 2-3x per week and loving the energy I get after my workout. Working out is something I must do in the morning because I don’t like working out at night. After working all day my energy levels are too low to attend the gym so my motivation is not there. Try this at home workout!

Start the day with energy:

Breakfast & Supplements:

I eat a breakfast of oats, fruit, eggs and spinach. I then take my coffee with coconut or almond milk and Mct oil which gives me a lot of energy. I take my supplements of a multi vitamin, fish oil, collagen and vitamin c. I then create a green juice with superfood powders that I take with me.

Plan and execute:

Planning:

I use the morning to schedule my tasks for the week and organize my plans. This definitely keeps me in line with my goals and getting everything I need done. Planning and scheduling my week helps me get my personal tasks completed so I can reach my own personal goals which are important to me. Many people find journaling in the morning can be really helpful in manifesting what they want.

{Create} A Morning Routine

To create a morning routine, first make a list of habits you’d like to create or improve for yourself. It can be simple. Anything from walking 20 minutes, to reading a book every morning. Deciding on habits that are important to you will keep you motivated, instead of picking something meaningless and then forgetting about it every morning. Try to understand the why behind each choice. Why is it important to you. {For example, it is important for me to remain a positive person, giving gratitude for what I have each day. Always remaining in a clear state of mind, so I enjoy reading my affirmations daily because they keep me positive and in an abundant state}.

The “Why” will help you push to complete them even on difficult days.

Pick 2 habits and start them tomorrow. Yes, just 2. Overtime they will become second nature and you can continue to add more and more. Do them every morning right after you wake up for the next 30 days.

Pick 2 Morning Habits from the List
