How To Master The Art of Staying Ready

how to stay ready

Have you ever heard the phrase “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready”?

What comes to your mind when you hear that phrase?

Usually is when that old friend is in town and wants to make last minute plans. Or when a co-worker wants to go from the office to a nice dinner. Or maybe when summer is a month away and you’re still not in shape

Usually the next thoughts that come to my head are, my hair is not perfectly done. My makeup is not on point or I don’t feel I’m dressed well enough to accept last minute plans.

Wouldn’t it be nice to just feel ready all the time and not have miss out on those opportunities.

Well, staying ready might be the ideal way to approach any situation that comes at you.

If you live a busy life, between work, family and maintaining relationships it can be easy to put your personal appearance in the back burner.

The best way to fix this is to create habits and do things that will keep you ready.

Maintain a signature hairstyle:

The number one thing I think about when being invited to any last minute plans is my hair.

I have naturally curly hair and keeping it perfectly styled takes time.

If your hair is your main concern for staying ready, have a go to hairstyle that you revisit between blowouts.

Anything that makes you feel good and can be easily done.

Another option for fast hairstyles is a wig. Wigs are easy to put on, style and be out the door.

Lacefront wigs are also convenient and natural looking.

Maintain your weight:

Feeling bad about how your body looks might be holding you back from accepting those invites from friends or taking a last minute vacation.

Usually if I don’t stick to a consistent workout routine I end up over stressing about not being in shape.

The best way to maintain a healthy weight is with a consistent workout routine even if is 2-3 times per week.

This will keep you at a healthy weight throughout the year, while feeling and looking your best for anything.

Simplifying your wardrobe:

Keeping a simple wordbrode will fix the issue of not finding what to wear.

Usually too many options can make things more difficult when it comes to getting ready.

Work on cleaning your closet and having a simple wardrobe with things that fit you well and are versitle.

Signature makeup:

I’ve simplify my makeup routine over the year.

Summer is not the best time to be blending eyeshadows with the high temperatures and humidity.

Keep a simple makeup routine you can always do that saves you time.

For me thats foundation, brows, lashes, liner and contour. With a signature makeup routine you can be out the door quickly as well as accept any last minute fun plans.

Lashes, nails, grooming:

To bring the entire thing together is important to maintain any other grooming everyday or every other day.

This means daily grooming to make it easier on any last minute plans.

Keeping you nails manicured, to avoid the excuse of cancelling plans because of a chipped nail.

Cutting out any extras, like putting on lashes by getting to lash extensions, or filling in brows by getting your brows micro-bladed.

Staying ready is all about incorporating a routine that will keep you in check.

Set habits in place that won’t seem like much effort but will yield tremendous results. I look forward to mastering the art of ‘staying ready’ by maintaining these habits daily.
