Saturday Morning Beauty: Instantly Firm Your Skin With These Simple Steps

weekend morning routine

Saturday mornings have become my favorite time to focus on skin care. After a long week of  wearing makeup everyday, taking a Saturday morning to elevate your skin can make huge improvements in its appearance. On a Saturday morning you might have a couple of more minutes to add some hydration and anti-aging elements to your skin care. These simple steps can help you improve your skin’s appearance by making it appear more firm in the long run.

Apply Ice: Upon waking up your skin can be puffy or swollen. This can happen from sleep or from retaining fluids from drinking the night before. Applying ice to the face can help with puffiness while bringing down redness. Applying cool temperatures to the face in the form of a mask or with massages can brighten your complexion and help it appear healthier with the effect of boosting circulation. Cooling temperatures can minimize open pores, refresh your skin and make it glow. Massage your face with an ice roller by rolling it up and down your face, focusing on the forehead, cheeks and the sides of the eyes. I use a  facial eye mask that stays in the fridge at all times, along with massaging my face with an ice roller for 5-7 minutes to increase circulation and reduce puffiness.

Face Massages: Using a roller to consciously massage your face can stimulate the face muscles, which help bring oxygen to the face, this is a natural form of anti-aging as it helps keep the face muscles active. Like a workout for your face.  Using the  Jade Roller Massager, roll it up and down your face covering your entire face in and up and down, back and forth motion. Repeat this everywhere focusing on creating a lifting effect when rolling. This process of facial massage can increasing blood circulation and oxygen flow to the facial muscles and skin, when we do this we are helping our face muscles remain tight. It will help give your face a lift, when done all the time it can help lessen the appearance of a  fallen face and reduce the any signs of deep wrinkles.

Sheet Masks: A sheet mask is the perfect way to multitask and relax while giving your skin hydrating nutrients. After the ice and the face rolling I like to apply a hydrating sheet mask to my skin and leave it on for 20 minutes. You can also do a bit of face rolling with the mask on. The goal is to wake up the skin with the ice, lift it with the roller and hydrate it with the sheet mask. Some of my current favorites are Dermal Collagen Essence Full Face Facial Mask and Peter Thomas Roth – Un-Wrinkle 24K Gold Intense Wrinkle Sheet Mask
